Dean Watkins great vocals and impressive guitaring are some of the reasons the engaging performer is constantly in high demand at a range of venues across Brisbane. Dean has performed hundreds of gigs around the Brisbane scene over the past five years at venues such as The Royal Exchange Hotel, The Grosvenor on George, Irish Murphy’s, The Full Moon Hotel and many more. His performances in front of raging young pub goers always have people dancing along with his thumping stomp box. When playing to chilled out crowds his extensive knowledge of contemporary music could be why the crowd always come back for more.

He enjoys and plays a variety of different genres and believes Djing should strike a balance between keeping the crowd happy, while staying true to himself. According to Charlie there are two types of music – good and bad, and Charlie Hustle plays good music, whether it be new, old or in between. His quick mixing of hip hop, funk, soul, disco, house, baltimore, break beat, drum & bass, dubstep, reggae and rock ensures he and the crowd are always getting busy. Charlie Hustle has already played at most major clubs in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, as well as Adelaide supporting the likes of The Beatnuts, J-Live, Kool Keith/Dr Octagon, Lyrics Born, Ugly Duckling, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Cool Kids, Lady Sovereign, The Rapture, Metric, Cash Money (world DMC champ), Dj Kentaro (world DMC champ), Slyde, Luke Vibert, Caspa, Silent Witness & Squire, Black Sun Empire, Recloose, Linus Loves, Maurice Fulton, Congorock, Dexter (The Avalanches), Hump Day Project, Ajax (Bang Gang), Kid Kenobi, Purple Sneaker Djs, Yacht Club Djs, Sampology and Resin Dogs among others. He has been the Dj selected to play at parties for Red Bull and A-Listers like Brody Jenna (The Hills) and The Cobra Snake (Celebrity Photographer). Charlie Hustle plays regularly at events from F#%k Fluro, Disco Entertainment and Shifty (Dump/Feat). He played the Brisbane leg of Parklife 2009 and was asked back again this year. Charlie Hustle has a love for music and ensures that he surrounds himself with it on a daily basis. Whether he’s working at a record store, searching for new music, playing in clubs, going to shows or playing with beats in his bedroom, his passion for what he does is obvious. Just because he looks 16 doesn’t mean he can’t keep up with the big boys! Expect the unexpected with Charlie Hustle, and not just in relation to his Djing!

After picking the brains of the resident DJ’s, Alex traded in the guitar for a set of decks and quickly landed a residency spot in a local nightclub.

After catching the eye of one of Australia leading DJ’s JIMMYZ, he was encouraged to join the highly successful 4PLAY Gold Tour, and hasn’t looked back.

Since then Alex has been seen playing some of the most popular and biggest night spots in Queensland, including: Fitzy’s MBar (Loganholme), Narrangba Valley Tavern, Envy (Gold Coast), NYE Sugarland Tavern (Bundaberg), Rolling Rock (Noosa), Brothers (Ipswich), and the Wharf Tavern (Sunshine Coast), and closing the night at the ever-popular Caxton St Seafood Festival (17,000+ people for an annual street party celebration).

As well as playing some of Queensland’s biggest crowds Alex has also shared the stage with Australia’s biggest acts such as JimmyZ, Nick Skitz and World Champion Beat-Boxer Joel Turner, as well as a plethora of Brisbane favorites. DJ Alex Fischer has quickly developed the ability understand and engage his audience as he’s no stranger to playing everything from classic top 40, hi nrg, old school and even some crazy reworked rock mixes, but the end result is always going to get the crowd moving.
